“The Oklahoma Parental Choice Tax Credit Act is a landmark piece of legislation that will deliver much-needed tax relief to parents and improve the lives of tens of thousands of families throughout the Sooner State. Its passage demonstrates a stalwart commitment by state leaders to support and empower parents with the choices they deserve when it comes to their children’s education.
“I applaud Gov. Kevin Stitt, Speaker Charles McCall, President Pro Tem Greg Treat, Sen. Adam Pugh and Reps. Mark McBride and Rhonda Baker for taking this important step to expand parental choice for all families and for their commitment in helping parents provide a smoother transition into private schools or homeschooling for their children. We look forward to this bill becoming law.”
The Oklahoma Parental Choice Tax Credit Act provides parents with a refundable state income tax credit for up to $7,500 per child who attends a private school and $1,000 per child for homeschool students for educational expenses such as tutoring, instructional materials and after-school programs. The bill has passed both legislative chambers but currently is being held in the House and has not yet been sent to Gov. Kevin Stitt for signature.
