“Tennessee leaders made clear that student achievement and opportunity are top priorities. These policies strengthen access to quality schools and college and career pathways, improve financial transparency, guarantee access to advanced math pathways for ready learners and ensure public charter schools can continue to serve students well.
“Families will benefit from expanded scholarship access that helps students attend schools where they learn best. Middle school students will gain guaranteed opportunities to take advanced math—putting more learners on a path to college and career readiness. Stronger college and career pathways will give students greater flexibility to move between programs while maintaining momentum toward a degree, and charter schools will have greater capacity to grow and support more students.
“We are grateful to Gov. Bill Lee, Commissioner Lizzette Reynolds, House Education Chairman Mark White, House Education Instruction Subcommittee Chair Scott Cepicky, Senate Education Chair Dawn White, Sen. Jack Johnson, Rep. William Lamberth and the many lawmakers who supported these policies for keeping students at the center of every decision, raising expectations and delivering solutions that improve learning and long-term success.”
