Georgia

Patricia Levesque, Executive Director of ExcelinEd in Action, issued the following statement on the Georgia Legislature’s passage of the Education and Workforce Strategy Act:

“When we talk about college and career pathways, statewide governance and a commitment to a shared vision is always where we start.

“Georgia lawmakers have shown they are serious about ensuring all students can access the skills, credentials and experiences they need to succeed beyond graduation. This legislation strengthens coordination across agencies to create a more coherent, transparent system that will help students transition confidently from the classroom to careers.

“Students will gain clearer pathways, better information and expanded opportunities to accelerate toward their career goals. Educators and institutions will benefit from improved data, streamlined governance and consistent expectations across the state. Employers will see a more reliable talent pipeline grounded in real workforce needs.

“Georgia’s strategic, cross-agency approach positions the state as a national leader in aligning education and workforce systems. We are grateful to Gov. Brian Kemp, Rep. Matthew Gambill, Sen. Matt Brass and state leaders who advanced this important step forward to ensure every Georgian can build a strong future in the state’s growing economy.”
