Chris Sprowls serves as the managing partner at Rooker Ward Partners LLC, a business consulting firm focused on high growth trajectory companies with a strategic emphasis on Florida. A lawyer by trade, Chris is Of Counsel at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, a national law firm with a proven reputation for providing industry-leading legal advice to regional, national and international clients. Chris started his career as a prosecutor in Florida’s Sixth Judicial Circuit, where he spent seven years as an Assistant State Attorney. Chris was assigned to the Special Prosecution Unit where he focused on gang and homicide crime, taking an active role in identifying gangs and dismantling their criminal networks. On November 4, 2014, Chris was elected to the Florida House of Representatives. During Chris’ time in the legislature, he served as Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, and subsequently as Chairman of the Rules Committee. In 2020, Chris was elected Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives for the 2020-2022 term. As Speaker of the Florida House, Chris was a champion for children’s literacy, starting the New Worlds Reading Initiative, the nation's largest effort to tackle childhood reading proficiency. Today, over 275,000 children benefit from the New Worlds reading Initiative. As Speaker, Chris also oversaw the largest effort in Florida History to prepare Florida for natural disasters and coastal resiliency. In addition to his work in education and environmental resiliency, Chris prioritized meaningful work for Floridians by passing the REACH ACT designed to overhaul Florida’s workforce infrastructure and ensure Floridians the help, training and education necessary to provide for their families. Chris termed out of the legislature in November of 2022. Chris is married to his wife Shannon and is the father of two boys. During his public service, Chris prioritized the Responsible Fatherhood Initiative Designed to help Florida meet the growing crisis around fatherlessness and its impact on children. He remains active with organizations confronting fatherlessness throughout the country. Chris serves as Chairman of the advisory board for the Lastinger Center for Learning at the University of Florida, a director at Flagship Bank, and a board member of TECO Energy, and People’s Gas.
